British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson has congratulated Ghana’s president-elect, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, for his victory in the December 7 presidential election.

Mr Johnson applauded Akufo-Addo, President Mahama and the five other presidential candidates for their show of statesmanship, especially for respecting the results of Wednesday’s election.

“I congratulate Nana Akufo-Addo on his election as President-elect of Ghana. I also pay tribute to John Dramani Mahama and the other presidential candidates for their statesmanship in accepting the result and respecting the will of the Ghanaian people,” he said in a statement issued Friday night.
