…WAPCo Boss Exposes Prez, PURC’s Hypocrisy

President John Mahama has intervened in the current tussle between the Volta River Authority (VRA), West Africa Gas Pipeline Company (WAPco) and Nigeria’s N-Gas over threats to cut gas supply to Ghana.

According to WAPco, President Mahama through Cabinet has directed the Public Utility Regulatory Commission (PURC) to sanction an increase in utility tariffs to help offset the debt.

Journalists Want Stan Dogbe Sanctioned!

Some 155 journalists from over 40 media organization across Ghana have joined the Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA) to petition President John Dramani Mahama to demand sanction against his staffer, Mr. Stan Dogbe.

The petition follows Mr. Dogbe’s assult of Mr. Yahayah Kwamoah, a journalist with state-owned Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) nearly two months ago. In an incident that many have described as shameful and embarrassing, the Presidential staffer, seized and destroyed the journalist’s recording equipment at the 37 military hospital.

The Concerned Citizens of the Afadzato South (CCAS) in the Volta region have called for the immediate disqualification of the District Chief Executive (DCE) of the Afadzato South District Assembly, Madam Angela
Alorwu – Tay, in the upcoming vetting of the National Democratif Congress (NDC)

Led by Paul Kpai, the group has also called on investigative bodies like the Economic and Organised Office (EOCO), the Bureau of National Investigation (BNI) and the National Security to commence an investigation into the activities of the DCE in the district.

Kumasi Police, DCE Fight Over Chinese Galamsey Don

The Ashanti Regional Police Command is fending off claims by the District Chief Executive of Amansie –Central, Dede Appiah as well as NDC sympathizer, Robert Owusu that they are complicit in the marauding illegal mining business in that particular district.

In a breathtaking rebuttal on a Kumasi based radio station, Boss Fm 93.7FM, Chief Inspector Godwin Ahianyo, Deputy Public Relations Officer at the Ashanti Regional Police Command denied claims that the Police has been
aiding a notorious Chinese illegal miner by name Aisha.
