The controversy surround the appointment of Afriwave Telecoms Ltd. to operate an Interconnect Clearing House on behalf of telephone networks operators in Ghana has taken a new twist.
After the National Communication Authority (NCA) had ordered Subah Info Solutions to remove ots gadgets from the nodes of the telephone companies an hand over to Afriwave, it has now emerged that the process for the selection of Afriwaves is fraught with irregularities.
Afriwaves was awarded the contracts after going through a bidding process to operate the Interconnect Clearing House (ICH) in January 2015 by the National Communications Authority.
Rawlings weeps over insults on airwaves
Ex-President Jerry John Rawlings has expressed his unhappiness over insults Ghanaians are hurling at each other because of political intolerance.
Mr. Rawlings wondered why Ghanaians would chart such a divisive path instead of tolerating and accommodating one another’s views, despite the individual’ political affiliation.
He said: “The hot and unproductive insults on the airwaves must cease. We must be ready to accommodate whoever our political opponent is.”
Ex-President Rawlings expressed his unhappiness, when he called on the chiefs and people of the Osudoku Traditional Area in the Shai-Osudoku District to offer his condolence on the death and burial of their late Paramount Chief and President of the area, Nene Klagbordjor Animle V.
Nana woes Krobo voters
The presidential candidates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dnakwa Akuffo-Addo, has appealed to Krobos to vote massively for the NPP, in both the presidential and parliamentary elections, and thereby help deliver a resounding victory for the party in the November pools.
According to NanaAkuffo-Addo, listening to the concerns of the people of Krobo Odumase, it was clear their current conditions of living and appear to have lost hope in the ability of Ghana to offer a decent living to its citizens.
Speaking in Ga, he, however, urged them not to give up on Ghana, but have faith, that with the right leadership pursuing the right policies, Ghana will become a country of progress and prosperity.
