Muntari brothers train together as they eye new deals

Sulley Muntari and Muniru Muntari are undergoing training together ahead of a possible summer move.

Both brothers are unattached at the moment, so they are free to join a club of their choice this summer.

The 32-year-old midfielder played the last six months on loan at Italian Serie A side Pescara, while Muniru’s contract was terminated by Steau Bucuresti over alleged racial discrimination against him by the president of the club.

Sulley Muntari made the headlines for the right reason when he walked off the field in protest against racial abuse meted out to him by fans of Cagliari, while playing for Pescara in the Serie A, after the referee had booked him for complaining about the matter.

Muntari has represented Ghana in three different FIFA World Cups, 2006, 2010 and 2016.
And for clubs, he has had the opportunity to play for several teams at the highest level Udinese, Sunderland, Portmouth, Inter Milan, AC Milan, etc, having won the UEFA Champions League, Serie and Italian Serie.

However, a move for him will be a chance to relaunch his career which has taken a nosedive.

Meanwhile, Muniru Muntari, the younger brother of Sulley has remained in Romania since seeking greener pastures overseas from Liberty Professionals, having played for CRJ Cluj, before joining the 1986 champions of Europe Steau Bucuresti in 2015.
Sulley Muntari is on the radar of English Championship side Birmingham City, whereas Muniru, he is close to joining Saudi Arabian side Al Ettifaq on a long term deal, according to reports
