One Striker To Be Signed
Management is likely to seal the deal of one striker this week, Communications Manager, Kwaku Ahenkorah has told Kotoko Express. So far ten new players have been signed – one being a goalkeeper; four defenders and the rest midfielders. Many have been asking whether the club won’t sign an attacker to add to those already there. The question, communications manager hinted Kotoko Express over the weekend would be answered by the close of the week.
“We are close to signing a striker” he said. “We could announce that early in the week or by the time the week ends” Ahenkorah disclosed.
Porcupines Back To Kumasi
Players and officials who pitched camp in Takoradi in the Western Region for an intensive training programme have returned to Kumasi. They returned last Saturday evening and were asked to rest on Sunday ahead of their sessions yesterday. Their session was about to start at the time of going to press yesterday. The team left Kumasi on Sunday, November 15 for the Oil City for a seven-day camping which signalled Kotoko’s preseason work.
Coach David Duncan was fully in-charge of affairs. Apart from their routine warm-up exercises, they spent ample time at the beach and the gym among other sessions. The season in camp throughout the period, Team Manager, Prince Adu-Poku told Kotoko Express was atrongly positive, with the retained and new players showing mutual respect and great team spirit in an anticipation of good performance when the season formally opens.
