THE countdown to the second coming of Coach Kwasi Appiah ends today as the new Black Stars trainer arrives from the UK to begin his two year mandate.

The much anticipated arrival of the highly respected coach was herald by his visit to the UK to spend time with his family after an emotional send off part by officials and supporters of his Sudanese club, Al Khartoum SC.

Before he finally settles down to work on Monday, May 1, Appiah has two main task to perform to append his signature to a two year contract with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and also pick his technical team for the task ahead.

The climax of it all will be the flamboyant unveiling and media encounter with the man who made history in 2013 as the first Ghanaian ever to qualify the Black Stars to the Brazil 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Pay Agogo €450,000

…FIFA orders Zamale

FIFA has ordered Egyptian giants Zamalek to pay their former Ghanaian striker Junior Agogo €450,000 over his long standing unpaid wages.

The Cairo based club has not paid all the €807,000 owed the former Black Stars player after a ruling by the court of arbitration for sport.

This forced the world governing body to rule last Wednesday, requesting the club to pay all the remaining outstanding money.

Serena is pregnant

Tennis superstar Serena Williams is pregnant and taking maternity leave through the rest of 2017, expecting to give birth this fall, her spokeswoman said last Wednesday in an announcement that upended a sport the 35 year old athlete has dominated for the past decade.

The confirmation came hours after Williams, due to regain to the No.1 world ranking next week, set off a day of frenzied speculation with a short lived selfie posted on social media posing for a photo in a yellow one piece swimsuit on Snapchat with the caption 20 weeks.
