GHone: Mahama innaugurates Kpando water supply system.

President Mahama has inaugurated the Kpando Water Supply system tas he kicks start his campaign of the Volta region today Monday October 17, 2016.

The project, which started in February 2011 with funding from the World Bank and the Netherland government has been completed.


It is expected to ensure the delivery of potable water to residents of the Kpando municipality, as well as two neighboring districts of Biakoye and North Dayi.


Before the project, the water system in Kpando only supplied 130,000 gallons of water a day, a capacity which has now increased to 1.5 million gallons per day.

Volta Regional correspondent, Lambert Atsivor who is on the campaign trail with the president said the people of Kpando expressed gratitude to the Mahama led NDC government for the increased capacity.

Water is sourced into the plant from the Volta Lake.
