Federation of Ghanaians living in the UK has congratulated President Mahama for his participation in the recent Anti-Corruption Summit in the United Kingdom (UK).
According to the Federation, his participation in the Anti-Corruption Summit has “certainly pushed Ghana notches higher among the global community of nations.”
A release signed by Kwabena Duku, President of the Federation, indicated that it is invigorating to note Ghana’s fight against corruption has been highly recognized by the international community.
“It is refreshing to note that Ghana’s fight against corruption as noted by the Transparency International has been acknowledged by the international community.”
The release did not only congratulate President Mahama for his sterling performance at the Summit but also congratulated the National Council of Ghanaian Unions (NCGU) and the NPP demonstrators adding that “Ghana demonstrated something more than Anti-corruption credentials in London.”
The release commended the NCGU together with the Ghana High Commission to have efficiently organized Ghanaians in the United Kingdom which included the NPP demonstrators to converge and listen to the President
According to the Federation, it was refreshing to see the NPP demonstrators who had initially threatened to boycott the Accounting to the People Forum, succumb to the “wise counsel and charm of President Mahama as they reluctantly laid down their placards to drink from the president’s fountain of wisdom.”
“Once again Ghana…NPP demonstrators were not successful but they absorbed wisdom from President Mahama…Let us (home or abroad) continue to work hard to transform our dear nation-Ghana…We shall all win when Ghana wins,” the release concluded.
